About AI for Editors
AI for Editors is the first AI training program built specifically for professional editors. It launched in August 2023, before most of the profession had the vocabulary to talk about what AI would mean for editorial work, and it has helped shape that conversation ever since.
The First AI Training Built for Editors
Most AI courses are made for writers, marketers, developers, or "everyone." Editors are left to translate generic or irrelevant advice into the realities of style guides and revision stages on their own. AI for Editors closes that gap.

Every lesson in every course speaks the language of the craft and treats editorial judgment as the main point. Since launch, the program has trained thousands of editors in more than 20 countries, including individuals and teams from the United Nations and major US government agencies; top global tech, medical, and education institutions; and multiple Big Five publishers.

Meet Erin Servais
AI for Editors was founded by Erin Servais, an editor with more than 20 years in the profession. She has served on the board of ACES: The Society for Editing and taught copyediting through the University of California, San Diego's editing certificate program.
Erin speaks regularly about editing and AI for universities and industry organizations, including the University of Chicago, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the Book Industry Study Group, Women's Media Group, and Editorial Freelancers Association. She has written about AI and editorial practices for Toastmasters International, the Independent Book Publishers Association, and the Center for Information-Development Management, her work has been featured in Jane Friedman's The Bottom Line and Mignon Fogarty's AI Sidequest newsletters, and she has appeared as a podcast guest on the Brave New Bookshelf, Editor's Half Hour, and Leaving Academia.

Erin Servais started AI for Editors for two simple reasons: editors roles are changing, and they deserve training from someone who understands their work.
Our Approach
AI for Editors is built on the conviction that AI should make editors better at editing, not replace the human judgment that makes editing worth paying for.

Our training is practical and hands-on. Students leave with skills they can use Monday morning, not theory to reverse-engineer later.
It is also honest about limits. A constant focus is knowing where AI belongs in editorial work and, just as important, where it doesn't. Ethics, client trust, and professional integrity are treated as central, never optional.
